I don' know whether to laugh or cry, I really don't, just about some minutes ago I was all bored and decided to check out
Perez and you will never guess what I found, a
very interesting article about emos hahahaha. I never really wanted to talk about the topic but i had no choice after reading this, it's an article that declares that being an emo is being part of a "
sinister suicidal cult" lead by My Chemical Romance; the reason? because an emo girl named
Hannah Bond commited suicide. Now emo's will make a march on may 31st to protest for respect not only for them but also for Gerard Way and company from the british media.
Ok, first of all it is very sad what happened to that little girl (she was only 13! :S) and I'm terribly sorry for her family and wish the best for them, but I'm just gonna give my personal opinion on this, on the article it's said that her parents noticed she commited seflharm, and she just explain them it was an !initiation act! for being part of the emos...and what they did?? seemingly nothing! If it was me, I would have payed more attention after that and seriously discuss about it! I know some emos cut themselves and I certainly don't agree with self harming in any way, but I personally don't think this has anything to do with emo fashion, emo culture whatever you wanna call it. The girl was probably depressed and desperate for attention or something,

common you don't commit suicide just because Gerard Way talks about death on his lyrics, it's stupid.
Now, the press is telling that emos believe that when they die they will go to "The Black Parade" yep, that's the name of the latest record of MCR, record which I've listened and doesn't make me feel like I wanna kill myslef. I'm gonna confess once upon a time when I was very young about 17 ... that's some years ago ... I found MCR music and I've loved it since then. I got into the emo fashion not because of MCR, if maybe it was because of Sonny Moore of FFTL while I became more interested in it I notice that some of them, I reapeat SOME OF THEM NOT ALL did self harmed and I really didn't like that at all, I wasn't depressed and this is when I realized I definitely did not belong to this group, I just liked the music and the way they dress, make up, and do their hair. Time passed and I'm always renventing myself I never hurt myself and never fall into depression and never thought about sicide ....so I change of fashion, change of scene and leave all that emo thing behind, although I still have good friends that consider themselves emo that are still alive!!! and don't harm themselves!!! [and I still like MCR and FFTL music] I think the emos that really followed that state of depression and actions are very unloved people craving for some attention and I don't think they're doing it for the "sub-culture movement" I think it's more because they have some kind of trouble and one, they don't really know what to do, or two they look for the easy way out, or three they need some kind of psychological help, that's just my opinion.
Now about the respect that they ask for, I see emo as a Fashion state, is part of being a teenager at least for the kids and teenagers of this time, it's cool and it's what they look on Internet and TV, what they listen on the radio. Some people specially parents emphasize in the clothes that are all black, sometimes with some red, pink, purple or white, and it has design of skulls and things like that, well Hannah Montana Disney's charm plays a rockstar and wears black t-shirts with skulls, stars & stripes... duh!. Recently here in Mexico some emos were beaten up and they also protested for respect, and yes we should give them respect while they don't damage or mess with any of us I think it's fair. Everyone has their own sub cultural group, because eveyone wants to feel part of something, having that feeling of belonging somewhere, it's just natural and human. I just feel all this has gone way too far, and what does MCR has to do in the middle of it all?? Leave Gerard Way ALONE! hahahaha.
And now that the issue came along last week listening to a friend on the radio he quoted a reflextion made by the vocalist better known as Joe Volume in his band's blog. And it's related to the subject, so here I leave you his entry [it's in spanish.. translation soon] :
Son bien putos ("I..m a cocksucker, baby, what are you?" Lou Reed)
JOE VOLUME""There are more important things happenning in the world than beating up someone just for the way he or she looks and the music he or she listens, people. Diversity. Just think of that. Luv ya all !![no matter what you are] XD
